Not just metaphorical ones, either. My baby took 3 steps today! That is, 3 steps completely on his own--not holding on to anything or anyone. Yay Alex!
He was standing up and I decided to try to entice him to take some steps, so I held out one of his blocks. He tried to grab it with his arms, but I kept it out of reach. I've noticed before that he does tend to move with his arms, even when he's standing. So I just reached out and tapped him gently on his legs. Then he took three steps all in a row! Teeny tiny little steps, maybe a centimeter each. What a milestone!
