Over the past few weeks, Alex has really been enjoying some new playthings he just found....his feet! They are everything you could want in a toy: interesting to look at, with a great shape that is fun to feel, and the challenge of getting to them is half of the fun. Plus, they are attached, so they travel with you where ever you go. Except that sometimes Mommy dresses him in clothes that hide those fun little toys.
Another fun thing is watching him interact with the baby in the mirror. He really loves
that little guy! He smiles at him, talks to him, and tries so hard to touch him. If I sit with him in front of our mirrored closet doors, he can play with his mirror friend for a long time. He talks to him and slides the door to the side to try to get at him for a few seconds, then leans back into me and buries his face into my t-shirt for some reassurance before going back to his friend. He loves his mirror friend so much that I thought he would be so excited to meet other babies. But he showed almost complete indifference to the other babies he met in Ohio. They showed some interest in him, but he didn't reciprocate. Who knows why? Perhaps it is just that the baby in the mirror is familiar to him.
